As the most-anticipated décor, design and gardening show in KZN, UHM are delighted to be managing the public relations campaign for this prestigious event. Patrick Holford is a UK nutritional expert and forerunner in new approaches to health and nutrition. He is one of the world’s leading and best-selling authors and spokespeople on nutrition and mental health issues. UrbanHouse Media manages a complete 360 degree public relations programme for Holford here in SA – including a traditional media PR campaign, the management of various social media platforms and a comprehensive digital media strategy involving regular blogging and SEO management. We are also responsible for the management and implementation of his regular tours/ book launches in cities around SA.

Investec International Rugby Academy & Investec Hockey Academy
Harnessing the formula, credibility and success of the New Zealand International Rugby Academy, the Investec International Rugby Academy South Africa, is headed by Dick Muir and based in Durban. Our brief and objective here is to fill and to create a demand for their courses and those of their sister academy, the Investec Hockey Academy. To this end UrbanHouse Media manages a complete public relations programme for both academies including several social media platforms, a digital PR campaign and a traditional media communications campaign. With hard work and by completely immersing ourselves in both these clients, we have, year on year, grown their social media platforms substantially and garner meaningful, credible and brand-driven media exposure for both academies regularly.

Kwanalu – The Kwazulu-Natal Agricultural Union
We are in our third year of managing Kwanalu’s public relations, social media strategies and their digital relations programmes. Proudly in 2016 we won a Gold PRISM award from the Public Relations Institute of SA (PRISA) for our work. The judges concluded that UrbanHouse Media has reached the objectives set out, by Kwanalu, at the start of the PR campaign.

The Mercury Wine Week 2018
As South Africa’s longest running wine event, UHM is thrilled to be managing the public relations, digital and social media campaigns for the 2018 Mercury Wine Week. Our campaign’s objective is to showcase celebrating the show’s 40th year and the move to its new home at Sibaya Casino and Entertainment Kingdom. Durban’s wine-lovers can look forward to sampling wines from over 70 wine estates and an extensive Bubbly area as well as foodie delights.
The KZN Travel & Adventure Show
The KZN Travel & Adventure Show which is back by popular demand, taking place during the ECR House & Garden Show 5 – 8 July, focuses on celebrating memory-making experiences with family and friends, highlighting destinations, venues, resorts, travel operators and the best deals on travel packages. We are managing the Facebook page for this event.
Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon Expo
The OMTOM Expo has become an integral part of this massive race and we are pleased to be involved. UHM manages the OMTOM Event Facebook page with the objective of showcasing and connecting with the brands involved and exhibiting at the Expo. This year the Facebook event page enabled the OMTOM Expo page to reach a total of 119,286 sporting enthusiasts.
NWJ Bridal & Beauty Experience
Durban’s largest bridal show recently embraced a fresh new event concept to become the NWJ Bridal & Beauty Experience; bringing the global obsession with beauty trends to South Africa for the first time. Our objective for this exciting, annual event is to drive feet through the Durban Exhibition Centre’s doors with a both a digital PR campaign and a traditional media communications campaign; including generating distinctive media opportunities and social media collaborations with beauty and bridal, brands and influencers and exhibitors at the event. The content creation for this concept is centred around the changing nature of the bridal and beauty industries through an understanding of an inclusive, millennial generation, fuelled by interactive experiences, as well as second marriages, male grooming and the LGBT community; appealing to the bridal entourages, modern men and grooms-parties, and beauty addicts from diverse backgrounds, styles and shapes.
Simply Aloe
For Simply Aloe, a botanical skin, body, hair, health and sun care range, UrbanHouse Media assists in reaching new customers and educating existing customers with a digital media campaign involving monthly newsletters and a dedicated Facebook advertising campaign.
Hilton Quarry Superspar & Tops
KZN-Midlands grocer and local landmark, Hilton Quarry Superspar & Tops, approached UrbanHouse Media to assist in improving their communications strategy with existing customers and to strengthen brand loyalty within the community. Consisting of a rich content-base thanks to regular community events and weekly specials, we manage a 360 degree public relations campaign, incorporating both traditional and social media elements which aim to strengthen customer relationships and build community engagement through event-based PR. Providing a fresh perspective on brand audience dynamics is at the core of what we do, and capturing the lifestyle-oriented interests that pair the brand with the Hilton community has reinforced our creativity.
Hot Toddy
The Hot Toddy is a range of products developed from remedies passed down through the generations, combining secret recipes families have faithfully relied on for centuries for curing colds and flu. Working with a limited marketing budget, Hot Toddy turned to UrbanHouse Media and public relations to get the brand message to the media. Using competitions, sampling to editors and give-aways with well-respected bloggers, the campaign was a great success again proving that meaningful PR on a budget is possible.
